Activities

Situated at the hub of economic powers of northeast Asia, Korea is a peninsula with 345,000 §´ of continental shelf, 3.5 times its land territory.
There are more than 3,100 large and small islands mostly scattered in the sovereign waters of Korea in the South and the Yellow Sea which add up to more than 11,500 km of coastal lines providing great potentials and endless possibilities for environment friendly coastal space development. Korean government has acknowledged that the status of its own nation would be determined by the ocean development capability and its related technology and thus pledged its full commitment to develop Korea as one of the world's leading ocean powers through the "blue revolution", which is the strategic goal of the decadal project of Ocean Korea 21.
